Travel to Africa with APV!

East Africa, with its beautiful people, landscapes and animals, is truly an amazing place.  If you have ever dreamed of going to Africa, Africa’s Promise Village (APV) would like to take you there.  All you need to do is get a group organized at your school to raise money for clean water in the Simanjiro, and you’ll have a chance at the adventure of a lifetime.  Here’s how it works:

  • Your school must be registered with APV’s “Dig Clean Water” campaign on or before May 1st, 2012.   We suggest that you register your school as soon as you can.  Contact us here and we will email you a registration form and a printed copy of the campaign’s rules and regulations.
  • Tentative travel dates are September 2nd to 10th, 2012.  This dates are subject to change.
  • The winning three schools must turn their funds in to the APV office on or before June 30, 2012.  The three schools which raise the most over $6,000.00 will be invited to select ONE person, student or faculty, to travel to Africa with APV.
  • Students who wish to travel alone MUST be at least 16 years of age prior to the departure date.  Students who wish to travel to Africa and are under 16 years of age prior to the departure date must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  APV can not cover any of the costs incurred by a parent or guardian traveling with them.
  • For each of the three winning schools, APV will cover the cost of..:

 1) One roundtrip, international airline ticket from a major US city to Arusha, Tanzania.  APV can not cover the cost any domestic flights to and from the departure city.

2)  All transportation while in the country of Tanzania

3)  All accommodations in Tanzania

4)  A Jeep Safari while in Arusha, Tanzania

5)  Two meals daily while in Tanzania

6)  Cultural activities with the Maasai people

All other costs (including but not limited to souvenirs, additional meals, visas and passport fees, vaccinations and so on) must be covered by the student.
